President
Chad is owner and founder of Beam Excavating since its inception in 2004. He has steadily grown this company over the years, making it what it is today. Chad is from Hood River locally, and keeps great relationships with his clients. As a local business owner, he also sponsors and donates as many local events as possible, including foundations, high school events, and fundraisers for multiple causes.
Josh Sorenson
Project Manager
With over 6 years of experience delivering successful projects, Josh has been a valuable addition to the team since 2022 as the project manager and lead estimator. In his role, he works closely with clients and our construction crews to complete a variety of infrastructure, sanitary, and fuel system installation projects.
Paul Van Laar
Project Manager
With over 28 years of experience in the construction industry, Paul specializes in residential project management and project estimating. He has managed construction crews on a variety of projects, including septic systems, homesite excavation, road construction, water, waste water, and utility line installation.
Billy Broderick
Foreman
Billy, Beam Excavating's longest-tenured employee, has been with the company since July 2010. He is skilled in both commercial and residential excavation work, frequently operating heavy machinery to install septic systems or complete other commercial projects.
Randy Whistler
Foreman
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Randy has lent his expertise to a wide range of residential and commercial projects. As one of our skilled foremen, he frequently oversees our commercial endeavors. Specializing in precision grading, Randy is the go-to expert for any job necessitating a meticulous attention to detail, from parking lot construction to driveway installations.
Jim Wilson
Foreman
With over three decades of experience in both residential and commercial construction, Jim is a seasoned veteran of the industry. As the director of our pipe crew, he oversees projects throughout the Columbia Gorge and in Portland, leveraging his extensive expertise to ensure our jobs are completed smoothly and efficiently.
Jeff Zeller
Forman
Jeff, our newest foreman, brings decades of experience as the former owner and operator of his own construction company to Beam Excavation. His extensive knowledge and expertise are evident as he is often the first to arrive and the last to leave the job site. Throughout his career, Jeff has overseen the development of numerous commercial and residential projects, including multiple new developments.
Anthony Hylton
Foreman
Anthony's lifelong experience in excavation, starting from childhood with his father's company and continuing through his career at James Dean Construction and M&M Excavating, has made him a versatile and skilled professional. He's proficient in operating machinery, leading crews, and building various projects, including forest logging roads and septic systems. Anthony's ability to problem-solve and his comprehensive experience demonstrate his expertise in the industry.
Roger Whitecotton
Truck Boss
With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Roger is a valuable asset to the Beam team. In his role as Truck Boss, he can frequently be seen hauling materials and delivering rock and soil to our residential and commercial job sites around town. Additionally, Roger's extensive field knowledge and expertise allow him to step in as an operating foreman on various residential projects, making him a crucial member of our crew in both supervisory and operational capacities.
